Purpose of Training
The purpose of a pay scale is to provide a salary structure with guidelines linked to the
grade of a job. It provides a logical framework on which to basic pay decisions. The course
will offer you practical solutions and an opportunity to practice what has been taught. We
will work on excel on a live case study. You will walk away with the theory and the practice
of pay analysis, and understanding and interpreting salary surveys and more ..!
NOTE: Course Pre-requisites; (i) Your Laptop (ii) Basic Knowledge of Excel
Course Objectives:
- Understand pay structure and features of a well-designed pay structure
- Understand what determines salary scales/grading
- Understand why there is a need to conduct salary surveys
- Understand what influences and how to read and interpret salary surveys
- Understand pay progression policy and implementation of pay structures
- Understand terminology, definitions and formulae, internal and external equity, pay range, pay slope, pay overlap, progression etc.
